Furrow Valley | Mountain Skyline | Canyon Country

This year of the Monkey has packed my memory with red rocks, mountains, and valley gorges. I live my weeks in preparation for the weekend reality. Quiet days spent alongside the rivers edge, digging my feet into the banks watching the sand camouflage into itself. Clear night skies under the void of city lights with blue and red wing dots intruding on the stillness of the stars. Crisp desert air permeates throughout the little mesh bubble. No backyard boundaries, no trace left besides the tracks in the sand of a playful pup. This is where the world makes sense. I leave you with photos from Big Cottonwood Canyon, Capital Reef, Angel Point, and Little Sahara.

Men come and go, cities rise and fall, whole civilizations appear and disappear-the earth remains, slightly modified. The earth remains, and the heartbreaking beauty where there are no hearts to break….I sometimes choose to think, no doubt perversely, that man is a dream, thought an illusion, and only rock is real.
