EAT. SLEEP. DRINK. PARK.
LIFE LIVED IN THE MIDDLE OF FOUR BLOCKS

I thought I would take the time to document the events since the 2015 New Year. Life in downtown Norfolk has started to feel like home, rather I am carving out a place for myself to make it home. From my bed to office desk is literally a 90 second walk, my favorite coffee shop is another 40 seconds, and the daily walks with the pups is just enough to wear them out.

I bought Scout a new Burley Tail Wagon trailer. On our maiden voyage I managed to bend the hell out of the axel. $45.00 and a few weeks later we should be reset and ready to rock! Avenue is also enjoying Norfolk. She has her claim to the sidewalks and ensures all the other dogs are aware.

Life as a QA Engineer at ForRent.com has been easily the most rewarding job I have had up to this point in my life. I jumped in eager and ready to learn which makes my brain feel like jelly some days. My team of eight is spectacular and I strive to create a supportive role in their day to day code crunches.

Mali still dorks out on her side projects involving antique picture frames filled with slang I continue to be educated on like, ermahgerd, which translates to “Oh My God.” She is a child trapped in an adult body. Our home is full of these little trinkets and memorabilia from the times of past.

I am rock climbing as much as I can with Gary, mobile UI developer, at a local rock climbing gym. Gary, Jason, and I frequent the bouldering wall and bloody up our finders while mentally exercising the most efficient way to tackle a route. I enjoy these times of intense physical strain.

Also over the past two weeks I have been actively interviewing with Optimizely based in San Fransisco. The company was founded by two Google Product Developers and would prove to be a huge leap of success in my professional development. Time will tell my fate, but the thought alone is super exciting.

Lastly, I wanted to share a video I created back in 2008 with Eckhart Tolle. It always brings me back to center, back to present. Enjoy!
